From 1 July a number of Medicare rebates will increase by 3.5%

From 1 July 2024, an update to the Medicare Benefit Schedule (MBS) will see a number of Medicare rebates increase by 3.5%.

Halaxy is unique in just how easy it is for you to update your preset fees – letting you import automatic updates for the fees you use and that apply to your profession, into your Halaxy software – in just a few clicks.

We have already entered these updated rebates into our Global Fee Database and you can update them now.

By updating your preset fees now, Halaxy ensures all your invoices dated from 1 July automatically reflects the new Medicare pricing, without affecting your current fees.

Many practitioners also increase their overall fees when MBS rebates are updated. You can update the fees you charge ahead of time and have them apply from 1 July onwards.

How to update your preset fees

To automatically update your preset fees before 1 July, all you need to do is:

1. Go to Finances > Fees and click Update Fees in the top-right corner of the page.
2. A pop-up appears with a list of the preset fees you have already imported, showing the date they were last updated in the Halaxy database and the new updated fee and rebate amounts.
3. Click the Update button for the fee. In the pop-up, select which invoices to update with the new fee details and then click Save.
4. Repeat for any other fees you wish to update. After you're done, scroll down to the bottom of the pop-up and click OK.
